Lonnie, also known as Anarky, reviewed the footage of news reports during the alien invasion, watching the weapons he co-designed helping humanity pull together once again to fend off the seemingly never ending forces of these aliens. Yet, Lonnie was troubled. Not because he designed a weapon to take the life of another living creature, which in retrospect he could have maybe found a way to end the invasion without resorting to weapons, but Lonnie had to admit that the aliens were not ones for negotiations. So that was clearly out of the question.
No. Lonnie was deeply wounded at the loss of so many lives he could have prevented had he discovered the alien's weakness sooner. Maybe he could have saved more lives if he had more doubles to help him. Anarky sighed as he switched off the monitors, spinning himself around in his chair sighing sadly. He couldn't keep beating himself up over something that was beyound even his control. It would just be something else he would strive to prevent and tonight he had plans that did not call for grieving. "Max, how long until that meeting?" he spoke up with determination as he sprang out of his chair and started slipping on his costume.
"Aproximately, thirty minutes." MAX promptly replied. "I feel I should remind you, that ever since the invasion gang activity has started working differently. A new king pin as it were," MAX quickly added.
"Yes. I'am aware of that. The shadowry elite don't waste a chance to continue oppressing the common man. Ever since the invasion, small time gangs got timid and it was easy for the corporate big shots to get them to work for them." Anarky replied putting his hat on. So it was his "duty" to give the shadowry elite a reason to be scared. Just because everyone was still shalen up from the invasion didn't give them the right to take advantage of it. How such greedy people could really be the heads of corporations was beyound him: they could do so much good if they devoted alittle time and effort, but instead they simply want more money; such avarice.
Using his boomtube, Anarky warped himself out from his secret base under the washington monument and hit the streets toward the meeting place. Remenants of the mafia was meeting with a few other small time gang members and from what Anarky had gathered in his data sleuthing was one of corporate conspirators was going to tell them what their next move was to be. Not if Anarky could help it!
