Now the mission to save this little girl was getting insane. Batman would of already figured out who and what was doing everything. Static had a glaring problem though, he had not asked for help besides what the villains had given him. By now it was clear all the villains in the US were now getting supplies handed to them. All of their gimmicks were more powerful and trickier then ever.
Virgil was trying to piece everything together on his flight to Mother Russia. A former Russian man's daughter gets kidnapped by some heavy duty thugs for someone who steals children for an army he is building. Allegedly the man has a scar on his left side of his face. The thugs later the that night had helped the Joker capture kids for a tv special with his new joker foam. They later joined the Riddler the next day in a bank hist where Static gave some information and keys up for a lead. After taking down the Madd Hatter Static was lead to Star CIty where a new local gang had been given some enhanced weapons to terrorize the town with. After checking around there Static had been given a small lead to Moscow, Russia.
Virgil sighed as he looked over the information with very little leads to it. Closing the lid to his laptop Virgil leaned back and enjoyed the rest of his flight sleeping and listening to the new rap and hiphop that was out on his mp3 player.
The flight itself had a few stops in random locations before it finally ended up in Moscow. Most of which Virgil had to wake up and which planes for the next location. Numerous hours later Virgil had finally made it to Moscow though. He was on a business trip for Wayne enterprises as was his usual excuse to go anywhere.
After retrieving his luggage Virgil ventured over to get some money exchanged for Russian currency. Moments later Virgil was out to get a taxi to take him to his apartment. Which was of course the penthouse, curtsy of Mr Wayne.
Walking into the room Virgil locked the door behind him. Turning around in the room Virgil put his laptop on the desk and his luggage in the closet. As he put his bags down he felt the sharp pains of his still healing ribs and bruises all over. His body and mind had finally begun to heal a little bit on this trip.
The hours of day became night. During the day he had gotten through his presentations and meeting for Wayne Corp. with ease as usual. He then showered and changed for his night bout with Russia. Dropping down on his saucer Static locked up and flew out into the night staying close to the rooftops as the night was young.

Russia. Lands of the Czars and more recently, communism. Red X cared nothing for the politics. Only the money. And money was here in the form of her target.
Static.
She knew enough to find him. How she would immobilize him, she wasn't sure of yet. But for this special job, she was going to utilize quite a few of her weapons.
Jackie throws a look around her surroundings, the mask off, considering she knows that she is alone. No one. Where was she? Moscow, Russia. In search of the hero Static. Red X was to kill him tonight, as ordered to by the mob.
Whatever floated their boat. Red X was being paid handsomely for this.
So, courtesy of International Flights, Jackie Lopez, under the pseudonym Ariana Jenkins, flew to Moscow, Russia in first class. It was a nice peaceful flight, with no children to annoy the assassin as she watched the view from the window. Few others were in first class, but that didn't matter to her. All that mattered was getting to the godforsaken country where Static was reported to be headed too.
She checked into her hotel, merely throwing her stuff on the floor and grabbing a few hours sleep before she headed out for the night.
When she awoke again, Jackie suited up in her much warmer Red X suit and exited via her large window. Roaming across the skyline, she watches the skies, knowing that in these temperatures, Static was more than likely roaming the skies as his transport. Her guess was proven right.
Underneath the mask, her lips curl in a satisfied smirk as her gloved fingers grasp a net canister. The faint electric glow that is her target comes closer....closer and then, he's right next to her. With a heartfelt grunt, Red X release the net canister and hurls it at the super hero. It whistles as it flies through the air. If the electric wonder was netted, he would have to struggle against that, possibly lose his balance, and even more hopefully, fall to her feet.

Static had not been in the skies long before out of nowhere he was ambushed by a metal net. Barely dodging it by jumping off his saucer, Static rolls onto a near by rooftop. Static watched as his saucer fell to the ground in the net.
"Guess it was only a matter of time before I was stopped by someone..."
Static joked as he viewed over the rooftops not seeing anyone near him. This was very strange, Static had not been here for a full day yet and someone was trying to take him out of action. News travels fast these days.
Jumping down the side of the wall of the building, Static surfs down it using his static cling on his feet. He safely lands on the ground next to the net. Now it was time for some detective work, as Static grabbed up the net freeing his saucer and putting it away. Taking a closer look at the net Static noticed it was much like the ones that Ravager stored in her room, but never used.
Static looked around the alley for a moment before he shrugged and hopped on his board. Someone was already trying to stop him from his goal. The question now is who and why are they helping the Russian Mob and the new villain that runs them?

The slits that covered Red X's eyes narrowed as she watched Static escape her attack. This annoyed her. This really annoyed her. Few ever escaped from a trap that she had set. Her white teeth grind together behind the skull mask as she watches in the shadows. Her muscles freeze up as he looks her way, and she melts farther back, hiding herself well. X breathes a silent sigh of relief as he looks away.
Like the assassin she had been trained to be by the LoA, she stealthily sprints forward as he jumps back on the horse, so to speak. Throwing her palm forward, several razor X's fire off at a rapid succession.
Probably before he could even blink, she slips a hand down to press at the X on her belt, teleporting to land just feet within his radius. She sprints forward the last few steps and tackles him at waist level, hoping to catch him off balance and to get him off the board.
(I can edit this part out... but I'm seeing her land astride him, trying to overpower him with her physical skills....he shocks her...and she goes unconscious, maybe?)
Together they skid a few feet, her body now astride his, face to face. Her eyes widen slightly, hoping that the advantage was now hers.

(Sounds good to me, I figure I'll knock you out and as he unmasks you the mob attacks trying to kill them both, Static has to take you to a hidden spot.)
Static had maybe been back in the air for about four seconds it seemed like when he felt a strange sensation on his arm. Looking down he noticed his arm was bleeding from a cut, just another thing to add to this great adventure he was having. The blood seemed to be from something sharp.
During this time though Static had no time to react as a shadowy figure appeared out of nowhere tackling him off his saucer. Needless to say the fall was fun, but the landing sucked. With a thud Static now laid on his back with he opponent straddled over top of him. This might not be the best time to point out the randomness of this attack, but who is counting right?
The figure was skinny, about average height and weight, seemed to be very athletic and flexible. The giant red 'x' on the mask was a give away for Static as his mind started to process the records he had been studying over the last year. Red X was an assassin from the League of Assassins gone rogue, not much was known about the person since well since the League was a little more secretive now a days, but Red X was very good with shurikens and the teleporting belt.
"Hey man, if you wanted an autograph I having a signing tomorrow at nine o'clock sharp, why don't you wait like everyone else!"
Static cracked sarcastically as he unleashed a full body electronic wave. This wave streamed up through his body into the person's suit, the effect had its desired point as the body fell limp on his chest. Now something was a rye as Red X fell onto him, but he couldn't quite place it.
Unfortunately Static did not have the time to deal with that as two black cars that looked straight out of the 'God Father' parked on either side of the two on the ground. The lights blinded Static for a moment as he got up slowly laying Red X off to the side.
"Hey sorry I seem to be lost, does anyone know where the nearest McDonalds is?"
Static joked as four very large men go out of the car with uzies. This was never a good sight for any hero. For some reason though they were just standing there waiting for something to happen. Static was more confused then ever as he looked around. A skinny man the walked out from behind them beginning to laugh. This man had a scar on the left side of his face, like the one he was told about, could it be him?
"You Americans with your bad humor, do you have any idea what you are getting into here? Tangoing with the Russia Mob is some serious business, and over what a random girl you barely know? Your sense of honor is astounding...."
The man talked with a heavy Russian accent as he walked around Static. Red X was still motionless on the ground, Static was not sure if it was a trap or not, but he had to drag this out for a bite.
"Sorry I was told that you Russians do a great reenactment of the gangs of Chicago, so I had to see for myself, what's it to you?"
Static shrugged as he looked the man right in the eyes. Static was not sure if he could take this man one on seven, but he was not really in the mood to take any crap from this man. Static's fist began to tighten as he looked around. The man crouched down looking at Red X unconscious, before standing up again shaking his head.
"Such a waste of money, the Russian MAFIA is under new management, since Sakuri Lions came in and took over, I just happen to be one of the original Sakuri Lions, my name is Drymiss the Fang, you would do well to remember this name..."
Finally a guy who talks more then Static spilling too much information. Static had the little information he needed to act. Fang turned around motioning towards his men for something.
"Kill them both..."
The man waved his hand as he got back into the car, singling for his men to open fire on them. Static charged right at the car with Fang in it dropping down to spring into a flip over top of the thugs onto the car using is powers to short the car's battery into an explosion sending the car flying into the building behind them. The thugs then began to shoot at Static as he jumped off the side grabbing a lead pipe to hit one of the thugs causing him to shoot his partner.
"I really hope your guys car insurance is better then your dental!"
Looking over the other two were standing over top of Red X. Using his powers Static grabbed both of their guns flinging them at the guy behind him knocking him over. Slipping over in between the thugs and Red X, Static generated his board under Red X lifting her away as he shock bolted both of them to their knees.
"I would really love to stay and chat, but I have people to see and places to go..."
Looking at Fang with a wink Static jumped on the board with Red X and takes off. Floating off into the slum section of town which was about a mile from their former location. Static stopped off in an abandoned building going in the top floor. He was getting pretty groggy all of a sudden as he landed.
Putting Red X on the barren bed that was in the tiny room that was very damaged looking, Static looking around trying to focus. The wound from earlier was still bleeding pretty bad, was that why he was so light headed? Standing over top of Red X Static removed the mask of Red X so the person could breath.
"What the...?"
A girl? Red X is a girl? Well that is all Static could think before her eyes flared open and kicked him across the cheek sending him through the bathroom wall landing in the shower blacking out.

"Hey man, if you wanted an autograph I having a signing tomorrow at nine o'clock sharp, why don't you wait like everyone else!"
Beneath the mask, hazel eyes narrowed at the superhero beneath her. Swiftly she reaches for the knife strapped to her arm, her hand grasping it as a wave of pain over takes her senses. She makes a small sound of pain, a low moan as the world goes black and she falls through the air.
Her limp body now residing on Statics chest, her mind is numb. She's aware of nothing that happens after that, not her employers showing up, not of the ride with Static.
Once upon a time, she had been a normal girl. In the years since then, six years actually, she had become a well trained assassin who worked for the highest bidders. Jackie did not kill for the pleasure. She killed for the money, for the thrill. Not to say she was entirely sane, but she still had a few morals along with the sick and twisted side of being Red X.
"What the...?"
A rush of cool and musty air hits her face and Jackie's eyes flare open in anger. Even before her mind was truly awake, her body is twisting upwards, one well placed kick smacking her target across the face. He flies backwards across the open space of the tiny room they were inhabiting, landing in the shower.
With a groan, Jackie sits up, her hazel eyes flickering around the room. They were alone.
Shaking off the stiffness, she rises to her feet and stalks across the room to take a look at the hero. He was bloodied, something that she slightly remembered doing before being knocked out. But other signs of a fight were all over his body, and she quickly surmised that something had happened while she was out.
"You saved my life, apparently." She spoke out loud for the first time, but he was more than likely not awake to hear her. "So, now I try to return the favor."
She bends down, her gloved hands clutching at the sides of the shower. Dark hair tumbles around a angular face as she stares down at the costumed hero before her. Determination, confusion, worry, it's all clear in those hazel orbs.
Slim arms slide down from the sides of the shower and twist around his waist. With a grunt, she pulls him up to a sitting position. "You are heavy, firecracker." she speaks, her now very female voice guttural with disuse. Red X tightens her arms around his torso, the side of her face pressed against his as she slowly stands up, the muscles in her back straining as she pulls him from the shower and inch by inch drags him across the room.
Thank god it was a small room. With a pained grunt, she drops him onto the cot, bending down to grasp at his legs and to set them on the bed. She checks his pulse. It's steady.
Turning from him she runs her hands over her naked face. Not even Hush saw my face... But this stranger.... This man I have sworn to kill, has seen my secret. My biggest secret. Do I kill him?
No. He saved my life. I have to return the favor. I can not take his.
He was still bleeding. She slides a hand into one of her many pockets and withdrew a small first-aid kit. Riffling through it, she locates the bandages. His costume was in the way of binding the cut. One eyebrow cocks upwards as she looks at him. The very knife that she had aimed to use to end his life is clutched in her fingers now as she cuts away at that one area of his costume. Seconds later, she had the cut banadaged and good to go.
Sighing she puts everything away and back into their places as she waits for the costumed hero to awaken.

Static was not in the best of predicaments nor was he in the best of conditions for this kind of activities. Everything from the last month or so was catching up and fast with Static; emotions, health, and resolve were all fading fast. Being beat on or up for the last few weeks has taken its toll on Statics last ounce of strength.
Static was not full aware of what was going on with Red X after she kicked him. His eyes were open, but he was not there as she moved him and doctored him up. The tention in her hands as he tied the bandages allowed Static to deduct there was a battle of morals going on in her head.
Moments later Static started to come to. As his eyes started to flicker open he noticed the assassin still had her mask off. Her hazel eyes were so innocent looking as the moonlight bounced off them through the window. Her hand was on her cheek as Static began to sit up.
"Are you in danger of become a nice person miss?"
Static joked as he pulled out her mask from his side pocket dusting it off. He then laid it on her lap.
"I have no idea why girls like you hind behind a mask, guess it is the in thing now a days...."
Static looked around as he stretched out while talking. He had to figure out his next move and if she was still going to kill him. Why had she spared him after going through the trouble of hunting him down. Sitting up towards her Static moves her bangs out of the way of her eyes since her mask was still off.
"Where do we stand now? Enemies or allies?"
Static spoke softly serious as he stared into her eyes. She probably could kill him at any moment if she so pleased, but Static had been so close to death lately the Angel of Death did not even scare him anymore. Something was there though in her eyes, he was not sure what it was, but it was there.

"Are you in danger of become a nice person miss?"
Her hazel eyes narrow as she watches him from her crouched position next to the cot. X doesn't even bother to reply to his remark. Besides the movement of her expressive eyes, the only time she truly shows any sign of being anything other than a statue is when he tosses her mask into her lap. She snatches it up, thinking as she does so, what would be the point? He had seen her face, her eyes, her lips. Nearly everything that was crucial to her.
My identity.
He saved me.
I owe him.
My identity.
A war of morals are raging its way throughout her consciousness as she crouches in that spot next to her target. She had been paid handsomely to kill this man, yet she had doctored his wound, and he had saved her.
"I have no idea why girls like you hind behind a mask, guess it is the in thing now a days...."
Long black slivers of hair had fallen across her face in the absence of her mask and he now brushed them, almost tenderly, out of her eyes. Mentally she blanches away from the gesture, but physically she stays still, her muscles as tense as they had ever been. Her hazel eyes stare into his brown orbs.
"Where do we stand now? Enemies or allies?"
The war rages on, her senses on haywire as her chest tightens. Hazel to brown, her face whitening as she pulls backwards- away from him. She stumbles away, straightening her shoulders as she does so. "You saved my life." she states, her voice rough as she speaks, her back to him. "Yet, I was trying to kill you. Why?"
Red X was a woman of few words. Why speak when actions were louder? As a child she had been normal, had spoken just as much as her many brothers and sisters. But ever since she had trained with the League, she had become a mute. Just now she had spoken more in ten minutes than she had since she had last seen Owen. "You could have left me to die." She shrugs, "I more than likely deserve it. I have had a spot reserved in hell for many years now."

"That is your opinion, but I doubt they have a seat waiting for you there."
Static replies with a smile though she could see it. Red X's beautiful face was now away from him. For some reason she was like Cassandra Cain with the whole silence speaks volumes. Though Static believed the opposite was true. Somethings could only be explained through words.
"You want the truth Red, yeah I could of left you behind and treated you like an animal or a bad guy. But I have this sense of moral judgment that I follow. So whether you like it or not I saved you. And for what it is worth I would do it again."
Static compliments Red X walking over in front of her looking out of the boarded up window. Looking over the projects of Russia was no different then some bad parts of the United States. It is sad that every where in the world has places like this it seemed.
For the most part Static was trying not to seem like a creep, but Static liked talking face to face with people. Besides if she really wanted him dead she would of killed him when she woke up. She was very pretty, she probably hides her face all the time. Taking a deep breath Static turned around and leaned up against the wall, trying to take the pain off his ribs and left leg.
"I don't know how people like you can just tune it out, the killing, death, violence....I deal with it, but you people are amazing...no fear nothing phases you....there is only success or failure...no second chances..."
Static was talking out of admiration to some point towards Red X. Static has had too many bad relationships lately, failures, or just never happened. Either way Static was now in the presence of someone who probably did not care whether or not he died. She was different, she was not just a cape wearing hero, but there was more to her. Static could feel it, well more like he could see it in her eyes when she would look at him.
"Not that you care or want to hear why I am here right now...but I am going to tell you because I'll leave your decision to join me or not after I tell you..."
Limping away from her, Static was trying to gather his strength he was running out of time. There was a lot riding on this moment in Static's life. This was one of those moments that would shape Static for the rest of his life.
"I messed up about a month ago...trying to be a hero showing off, since then I have been trying to make up for that mistake. Now this Russian mob has this man's daughter because I messed up. I just cannot let her be lost because of me..."
Static was waiting for Red X to say something or anything. He just wanted to hear her voice, it was soft on his ears. Unlike his last girl friend Static actually had to listen for when this girl talked.

"That is your opinion, but I doubt they have a seat waiting for you there."
A tremor shoots through Jackie's muscular body and she makes a noise that is a cross between a dry sob and a snort of disbelief. That faraway look returns to her hazel globes as her past runs through her mind. "I have killed many." she spoke softly, more to herself than to him.
He continued on, his voice gaining strength as he did so. "You want the truth Red, yeah I could of left you behind and treated you like an animal or a bad guy. But I have this sense of moral judgment that I follow. So whether you like it or not I saved you. And for what it is worth I would do it again."
Surprise leaps into her eyes ,the mask that is her face cracking as she allows her emotions to seep through the wall of her mind. Jackie looks at him, her eyes wide. No one had ever done that for her. Never said anything like that to her before.
"I don't know how people like you can just tune it out, the killing, death, violence....I deal with it, but you people are amazing...no fear nothing phases you....there is only success or failure...no second chances..."
She turns from him again, her face slipping back into it's mask as she grips the windowsill beneath her fingers, knuckles turning white as she grips with strength. As she struggled to listen through the roar of emotions in her mind.
"Not that you care or want to hear why I am here right now...but I am going to tell you because I'll leave your decision to join me or not after I tell you..."
Simply, she nods as she continues to look out over the dark city before them. As he moves away from her, she relaxes, only slightly as he speaks once more.
"I messed up about a month ago...trying to be a hero showing off, since then I have been trying to make up for that mistake. Now this Russian mob has this man's daughter because I messed up. I just cannot let her be lost because of me..."
He stops speaking, apparently waiting for her response. Jackie shoulders shake as she continues to stare out the window. Decisions run through her mind as she thinks, as memories and past dreams run through her mind all at once. "Your wrong, you know." She finally says, her voice low and rough. Continuing on, her voice grows stronger, "It effects me. I chose this life..." she pauses, her forehead wrinkling as she tries to think of how to say what she wants to say, "I deal with it in my job. My life is the violence, the killing, the death. I, unlike you, choose to cause it. You though. Your different than I am. Your more human than I will ever be."
Lids lowering over bright hazel eyes, she sighs, her speech stopped for the moment. She wasn't used to speaking this much all at once. "Something...something about you, it gets to me. I suppose... maybe, it is because even after everything, your willing to go on. I would have quit a long time ago."
Her eyes spring open and she turns, sliding side ways to lean casually against the wall, arms crossed over the red X on her chest. "Jackie." is all she says as she stares at him without any emotion showing on her face.

"Your wrong, you know."
This simple yet complex statement aroused Static's attention. Static's facial expressions probably showed that he was a little confused by what she meant. So he sat up and listened to her soft voice continue.
"It effects me. I chose this life..."
Why was she admitting this to him? Had he struck a cord in her little heart somewhere? These questions raced through Static's mind as he listened to her. The stale night air was being cut through by Red X's voice. Though it was apparent that she did not talk much.
"I deal with it in my job. My life is the violence, the killing, the death. I, unlike you, choose to cause it. You though. Your different than I am. Your more human than I will ever be."
Unlikely Static though to himself as Red spoke. She so no less human then Static was. The only difference was how they chose to live their life at that point in time. Everyone has those moments where they are so sick of what is going on around them they would just kill to have it change, but most find a way to vent that. It would seem this girl allowed herself to get consumed by it, instead of fighting it.
"Something...something about you, it gets to me. I suppose... maybe, it is because even after everything, your willing to go on. I would have quit a long time ago."
"Quiting is not an option for me. It would go against everything I stand for. Everything that makes me me."
Static replies trying to be optimistic sounding for her. Everyone has the ability to change if they want to, it is just whether or not they want to do the work required. One may never really know what is in store for them, unless they have been tried in that area.
"Jackie."
"Jackie?"
Static asks repeating what she just stated. Static was really lost now. Could Jackie be her real name? The League of Assassins would not think to highly of this move, they find out about everything. They even know who Batman is! If it is her name, why would she trust me? I talk too much, has she not realized this? Static thinks as he waits for her to explain.

"Jackie."
"Jackie?"
She nods swiftly, her dark hair cascading around her thin face as she watches him with those cold hazel eyes. "I'll help you. Under one condition."
Her thoughts centering all on that one condition, she turns from him and begins to pace. Her lengthy strides quickly eat up the small distance in the room as she strides from wall to wall.
"I ask that you do something for me if I die. While working with you, or afterwards, and you hear of it, you will find someone for me, and tell them about me. Everything that you know. That is why I gave you my name."
She stops, once more facing out to the window. Lights twinkle in the distance, but around them it is completely dark. "I want him to know that in my life, I did one thing right." her voice is soft, so soft it must be hard for him to hear her.
Jackie, her thoughts turning dark as she remembers that day so long ago when she had met Michael. It had been the day she had woken up to discover that in the space of twenty-four hours, she had gone from having an extremely large family, to being an orphan with no brothers or sisters.
Biting her lower lip, Jackie crosses her arms over the red x on her chest as she waits for him to reply to her request.

Static was confused about her demand, but he was not planning on anyone dying tonight. Static had a feeling that the request was going to be an awkward one. Further more why would she be asking this of him, they had only know each other for a few nights of fighting. Something was itching at the back of Static's head over this situation.
"You name it miss X and I'll deliver it for you. And Static keeps his word."
Static stated doing a mock stance to show some seriousness, well sort of. Static was now just waiting for her reply. They were running out of time before the show down with the Russian Mafia that was their opposition. They had to get a move on soon.

Why was X doing this? All she knew was that someday, something bad would happen. No more X. Hush and her had once had the same agreement- only for both of them. Hush was gone now. Just...disapeared. And for some reason, she felt the need to trust Static with this information. He was a hero. Heroes never held it against you.
So when he agreed, her shoulders slumped in releif, causing the tattered cape to move about her in response. "My uncle. His name is Michael Lopez, retired army general. I...I don't know where he lives right now."
Her hazel eyes glance upon his brown. Something comes over her, and she smirks, "Now," reaching into her pocket, she pulls out the red x mask and slips it on over her pale features. "Lets kick some Russian ass, shall we?"
Taking a step towards the door, she stops and looks at him again. With a hint of annoyance in Jackie's voice, she asks him, "Where the hell are we anyway?"

"yes lets do this..."
Static replied storing the name of Michael Lopez in his brain for a later date. Static stretched out before stepping up to the now masked again Red X. She was beautiful and she hide it so well, now he had to listen to the muffled man voice from her mask.
"Well we are in Russia, the projects which means we are close to the mobsters headquarters. It lies due west about five miles heavily guarded. But I am guessing since you have been there already to meet them, since they hired you, you can lead the charge?"
Static joked as he jumped out the window throwing his saucer out to land on. Flowing back up to her eyes Static stares into her eye slits for a moment with hesitation before continuing.
"Jump on the board, there is no need for you to waste energy running or teleporting when you can talk Flyboy airlines, its a shocking ride!"
Static joked as he put out his hand for Red X to jump on with him. Of course the board was smaller so she would more then likely have to put her arms around him to stay balanced, but Static was not getting his hopes up. Why was he doing this? For the girl right? Why is everything so out of whack.
