 The Interview (LoA)

Kanto exited his chambers and walked down the dark hallway. The sound of his leather boots echoed as his heels moved across the marble floor. He was inside the League of Assassin Headquarters; there was no need for silence.

Taking the corner to his right, he swiftly moved down the stairs. Two approaching brothers were coming up, and when they saw him, they both stopped and bowed. Kanto nodded and returned the bow.

A slight smile spread across Kanto’s lips. The little gesture of respect was something that he had to instill in the League. When he had taken over nearly four months ago, the League was in what he called shambles.

There was no respect, no honor, no loyalty, and no code. The League at that time could kill, but it wasn’t an art. That’s what Kanto had to bring back. He wanted the League to be something special, something greater than any one person. He had come to earth because he found humanity to be fascinating and challenging. He had grown bored with serving Darkseid, and was looking for something to carry his attention for the coming years. An acquaintance told him of the League, and Kanto saw it as a way to create something powerful…unique… a place he could pass on his knowledge and skills.

Many people such as himself craved power and riches, but Kanto was immortal, and knew that those types of material possessions would come and go like the wind. Instead, he always went for the intangibles, honor, discipline, and respect, for no man could take that away from you.

When he became the leader of the League, he had killed the previous Sensei. He knew that many thought he was there to be a lord, or a master, but he was not like the previous leader. Sensei had been nothing more than a oppressor. From all accounts he was a madman with no sense of purpose. He was far from being a sensei, he was more like a tyrant.

One of the first lessons he had to teach and instill was that of service. If you serve a person, then your service is based on how you are treated. If you had a poor leader, one tended to provide poor service. The League could not be like traditional organizations. Instead, it needed to be greater than its leader, it needed to be a brotherhood, an organization that treated all members with respect and honor, and that would be tied together by a code, not a master.

Because of this mindset, the members learned that one does not bow out of servitude, one bow’s out of respect, honor, and gratitude. Every member of the League was someone to be respected, so thus everyone bowed to one another. Your brother was your greatest ally and friend, and you would lay your life on the line for them, because that was your duty.

Duty, a word that none of the members seemed to know. Loyalty to your brother, and to the League, was now one of the greatest precepts they all shared.

To put it simply, no one outside the League could understand what it was to be a League Assassin, and no League Assassin could describe it to anyone outside the League. It was just a feeling, a sense that one acquired from being a part of it.

Down a few more corridors, Kanto moved into a large and open chamber. Near the center stood a single female, surrounded by three other League members who were chatting with her. The woman was Shi San, one of the League’s Inner Circle. The Inner Circle was something Kanto had established, and it served as a sort of leadership council. Having a council of leaders, instead of a sole leader, spread out the roles among many. Furthermore, it ensured that one man wasn’t getting all the glory. A council could all watch each other, keep each other in check, as well as have a greater chance of success in decision making. One person tended to make more mistakes than a group. One person tended to focus on their own agenda, instead of the organizations.

Shi San was Kanto’s most trusted ally inside the League. She had saved his life the first time they met, when he was fighting against the Sensei. She had been a tremendous asset in changing the League into what it was now. Her sense of honor was integral to who she was, and her observational skills were filled with wisdom. She was also extremely deadly, and Kanto had witnessed firsthand how well she could kill.

As Kanto approached the group, each one bowed to him.

“Honor and respect to you Master Kanto… we were just talking with Master Shi San about the possible new recruit, Alpha.”

Kanto nodded. The League was small, and news of a possible new member spread quickly. The League had ‘gotten rid of’ many of the old members, for many of them were simple thugs and hitmen, incapable of discipline or honor. Those that remained were the elite of the elite.

“Alpha, as you know Master Kanto, was a long time League member. He is extremely skilled and deadly. He helped train ‘The One Who is All’. We were just telling Master Shi San that we believe he will be a wise addition to the League.”

Kanto nodded once again. He was actually there now because Shi San and he were on their way to meet Alpha for an ‘interview’. Getting into the League was not as easy as it used to be, in fact, it was the hardest it had ever been. It was by invitation only, and even then, the initiation was probational. You didn’t just get invited and that’s it. You came in, were trained and observed, and then evaluated. The Inner Circle had all agreed that bringing in one bad apple could spoil the whole lot, so membership was taken extremely seriously.

“Thank you for your input; we will keep it in mind.”

Turning to Shi San, Kanto motioned toward the exit.

“Are you ready to take our leave Master Shi San?”

Inside the Headquarters, and around other members no matter where they were, Kanto always gave Shi San the honored title of Master. When they were alone, or in the field, he dropped the title.

Shi San nodded, and the two made their way out of the secret Headquarters of the League of Assassins.

One hour later, and nearly 5000 miles away…

“New York City, this place reminds me of Apokolips.”

Shi San was one of the few people that Kanto had revealed that he was from Apokolips.

“Most of the citizens seem like they would rather kill you, than look at you.”

It was idle chat, something Kanto hated, but he knew that it was customary on earth. He had been purposely trying to do more of it, but he was starting to think that it was more trouble than it was worth.

Shi San and he were currently at a nightclub. Alpha, the person they were looking for, was down below on the dance floor.

“Have you noticed?”

Kanto said under his breath as he leaned over and sipped on his drink. Shi San looked again at Alpha, and a few moments later, she nodded.

“He’s after a target.”

“This is a nice opportunity. We’ll see how he handles himself.”

Alpha continued to dance, completely oblivious that two of the world’s greatest assassins were watching him with keen interest. At most instances in life, this would mean you were dead. Fortunately for Alpha, Kanto and Shi San were not on that type of mission.

Alpha was a natural dancer. He was DAM good dancer. All he needed to do was look at what everyone else was doing, and get into the groove. The worst part was that those idiots over there watching him, and he had no idea they existed. He still wanted to put on a good show. After-all, he was the goddamn PARTY ANIMAL of assassins. He just watched and copied. He learned this kick-ass dance called the Soulja Boy, and it was very fun pairing up with a couple of gangsters for the dance. He loved especially, THE MUSIC. It kept him going. But although going to a Midnight Club was fun and everything...It unfortunatly wasn't why he was here. There was a man in the crowd he was looking for. A big-shot mobster that was too big for his own britches. Now every criminal and Mobster in New York wanted him dead for ripping everyone off for two billion dollars in fraud. The best part: Alpha got to party while killing some as@#$e at the same time. Money paid for the job summed around by everyone to be five million dollars.

This music's some good sh@#!, he thought as he Moon-Walked around, his cold, grey eyes searching for a younger looking guy in a pink (yes I said it, PINK!) suit. This guy has no taste in clothing, obviously. That or his nuts lean a little to the left. Either way, sexual orientation was not the big picture here. He had to kill the man, NOT THINK ABOUT HIM! Alpha really hated it when he got side-tracked from the mission. Even though half of the things he thought about were freaking awesome, what would really be cooler would be to concentrate more on the mission and get 5 mil. Spinning to the bar, he picked up a shot of whiskey and gulped it down. He usually drank a lot, these days. He wasn't even buzzed. Paying the Bartender, he scanned the huge dance floor for the man.

Finally, after about two minutes of scanning from the bar, he found him! He shook his coat sleeve. Zipping out was a poison dart. But before killing the pink victem, he had to see this idiot's moves and if they stacked up to his mad skills. Problably not, but he just had to see before killing the poor guy in Heaven. A "last dance" of sorts. He would consider it a final gift, before killing him. Grooving on over, Alpha challenged the mobster to a dance-off...

They danced right and left. They danced left and right. They danced down and up. They danced up and down. They did just about every dance known to man made from the 60's to now as a light shined upon them as people stared in awe. Alpha decided it worth his time to talk to the guy that matched his dancing skills.

"Dam, son! Your good!"

The man in the pink suit looked up and smiled.

"I'm beginning to get a little tired. You copied EVERY one of my moves perfectly! How do you do that?"

Alpha continued to look down and copy.

"You could say that not only am I quick, but I'm pretty skilled, too. This sh#$s easy for me, but you are kinda looking tired. Need a break, buddy?"

The man was obviously drunk. None of his body-gaurds obviously were around or evem CARED about him enough to look at who he was dancing with. That or he just didn't have any body-gaurds. Like it really mattered. Alpha wanted to finish this up, He learned jus about every dam dance in the book, and it began to bore him. Panting and sweating, the brown-haired man in the pink suit, said something in short breaths.

"Not~Dam~Buddy! (pant pant) A break would be nice. Lets have a sit down, and talk."

Alpha smiled the special little toothy smile he smiled before he took out his enemies. They stopped dancing, people stopped chanting for the two brilliant dancers and began getting back to their own dancing. Walking, arms locked with the drunk, tired man, Alpha had him sit down in a chair in a corner of the building. He handed some sun-glasses to the man.

"Here. They're Juliets. I don't mind if you keep them. I have like 5 more pairs. You'll look cool in these...real cool..."

"Really? OK!"

This guy was so drunk out of his mind, that Alpha actually felt kind of sorry, about doing this. For a moment anyway. That stupid emotion went away in a flash.

The man in pink took it with great enthusiasm. Putting them on, the man remimded Alpha of an annoying little brother. You know... that isn't, stoned with the amount of drugs you take to f@#k up an elephant.

"How do I look?"

"Like a million dollars! Or 5 million, I shoud say..."

Saying this, the poison dart he hid away in his sleeve the entire time slammed into the man's neck. It was a neuro-drug. He didn't want to spoil a good party, so he made the death, slightly painful, but not as painful as if he shot his ass to Hell. The man twitched and spasmed. Finally, he just layed there like a good little boy. Patting him on the face, Alpha grinned and laughed as he said:

"What's the matter, little fella? Why the long face? Weren't you here to party? I just gave you the best drug of all. Hope you like it. Sleep tight..."

The destructive force known as Alpha felt slightly tired, and wanted to spend a little of his night, drinking hard-liquor. Sitting at the end of the bar, the bald bartender looked at him, amazed at how much Alpha could drink and not even come close to being affected by the drinks. This was hard liquor, mind you. Not beer or whine or things that normal people call alchohol. But a bottle of Peppermint Shnapps. He had already drunken half of the bottle, but to the bartender, that was the limit. Alpha drank all of the time. He was conditioned for anything. The bartender stopped him. Alpha grabbed the bartender by the collar and pulled him in.

"I said 'hit me', didn't I?"

The bartender began to look annoyed.

"It amazing that you can drink that much, kid. It's almost scary that you haven't passed out right now. Sorry, I have to say that's the limit. You seem like an unstable person and I dont want to clean up a mess. Sorry-"

Alpha pulled the man even closer.

"I'm not a kid. I am thirty one years old. If you think I want a lecture, than you ARE WRONG! You haven't seen 'unstable', my friend. 'Unstable' is a gunshot to your freaking skull! I drink all of the time. Do I seem even affected by it, to you? No. I don't see any problems here. I am paying you for every drop of it. Hit me, or I will cap your ass, you here me, 'BOY'? And don't even think of going for that twelve gauge you have hidden under the table. I will shoot you before you reach a phone or that shotgun. I am glad we have an understanding."

He let go of the man. His point proven obviously. He got another shot of Schnapps. Sipping it, he savored the taste. For now, Alpha just wanted to drink away and feel a little bit better. Seemed like the perfect plan for the moment...

The League of Assassins had gone through a considerable amount of change throughout the last few months, in contrary it had actually gone through an entire transformation. Ever since Kanto had taken control of the League he had established a new sense of order for the organization and its members. They were a new formation of the world's top assassins, a better one, one that properly expressed the honor and pride that came along with being considered one of the world's top in terms of mastery of mind, body and spirit. Because in truth there was more than being an assassin in the League there was the display of power and control over your own body, your emotions, your subconscious, and your mind and that was a level that very few people managed to reach in life.

Through his leadership Kanto showed each willing member that they were truly greater than in the regards that former senseis had placed them in. Before his forced bestowment of power the League had been disheveled and lacking in terms of member etiqutte. Many assassins that had already been in the League had backed out long before due to the disorganization and confusion of who was in power and the expectations of the League. This drove loyal members away and fortunately some unwanted members.

All in all what greatness that the League achieved now could not have been reached without the guidance and leadership of Kanto.

Despite the fact that he was the original and main "leader", Kanto did not hold himself in that regard, he practiced exactly what he preached to them and that was as an organization as prestigious as theirs, they were all equals. There were however main "overseers" and that was the inner circle, comprising of Kanto, Shi San, and Lady Shiva. They were referred to as Master Kanto or Master Shiva and even amongst one another in the inner circle they called each other by those titles.

The transformation of the League was literally skin deep. Kanto created an elite fore of fighters who were heavily trained and ready for any type of situation that should arise and attempt to be an obstacle for them. He taught the importance of a team, an organization, brotherhood. Something that reminded Shi San of her own lecherous brothers. They were a mutual team, a brand of brothers who worked arduously day in and day out to improve themselves and one another. Kanto had explained that the new training they would under go would not be difficult so long as they were willing to commit to it. In fact the goal was to better yourself, to rise to the challenge or simply not to. Each member was assured that they would not be dropped from the League so long as they but their heart, mind and souls into the training process. If they felt they could not rise to the challenge then they had the choice to leave. Although the reward that they received at the end of their trials was much more rewarding than anything they had ever experienced. They had earned their membership into the League and absolutely no one could take that away from them.

Their loyalty to one another was astounding and made absolutely no room for anyone that had the slightest intent for betrayal. They under stood that as members of the League they were here to live for each other, to die for each other, and to aid each other to their very cores. They had learned to live with a sense of faithfulness to the League and to one another, faith that would always be there.

The new upbringing although not as brutal as it was when she was younger reminded Shi San of the way her father had raised her and her brothers. He had instilled within all of them a sense of brotherly (and sisterly) bonds, one that Shi San had willingly accepted to follow however had dropped once her brothers out of jealously betray her in their own drive for central power. It was probably this mindset that had allowed her to become close with Kanto, this and the fact that months ago she had saved his life from a traitor.

Kanto intrigued Shi San from the very beginning. His bold and assertive nature made him easily admirable but what Shi San saw inside of him was much greater than that. There was a fire within him that blazed with such grace and control, it was a fire that she had once seen in a former Sensei that she had and for that reason Shi San was always around Kanto. Like a cat at she stayed by his side always watching everything he did and listening to everything he had to say.

Like her former Sensei, Kanto was in no way disturbed by what others called eerie nature. He was not bothered by her silence or her ever watchful eyes and spoke to her as kindly as her former Sensei had. He shared a lot with Shi San telling her of his origin, how he had rose in power and his travels and journeys throughout the centuries. He seemed very open and comfortable with sharing all this with her despite the fact that she ever rarely spoke about herself to him. The most that she had shared with Kanto was little bits and pieces of her upbringing with her father and twelve brothers. She never spoke of the trials and tortures that her brothers put her through or how she had killed off one of her brothers. Naturally Shi San rarely ever spoke so she shared what she thought was necessary and that was surface detail.

But origins and personal profiles were not the focus of the League of Assassins. There was always training, educating and work that was being done amongst the members and most importantly recruitment. The League always sought out worthy members for the team, since they were such an elite force, members were hand picked and then interviewed by the masters to see if they were noble enough to join the organization.

While meditating one day, Shi San was approached by two League members who had a possessed the name for a potential candidate for the team. They said he called himself Alpha and described him as a new generation fighter because of his adept usage of handguns. He had turned the utilization of a weak man's weapon into a graceful and powerful art form. One that required the deadly marksmanship, agility, and flexibility that he possessed.

He was held in high regards in accordance to his previous memberships in the League of Assassins and was said to be on of the few fighters who trained the child, the one who is all, Cassandra Cain. He was a skilled and loyal subject of the League based on the reports that were given to Shi San. He had disappeared from the rosters of the League during its continuous transfers of power and had been recognized as a mercenary for hire these days.

If there was anything worse than someone who was not in the League, it was someone who was wasting such talents with such simple and mundane work. Based on his recommendations, Alpha was an admirable candidate for the League so when Kanto and her finally spoke she shared with him the information that others had shared with her. They had put Alpha into consideration as their next addition to the team so when recommendations came rolling in their consideration was put into action and they both planned for an interview with Alpha.

An hour later and five thousands miles away Shi San and Kanto were standing on the second level of a night club their attention focused on the scene of moving bodies beneath them. Kanto was leaning against the railing of the banister that scaled along the edges of the second floor ledge and Shi San stood beside him, her hands folded neatly behind her back. She stood completely still, her body propped up completely straight as she looked down at the dance floor, watching bodies moved in many different motions. She could read the different movements that rained across the dance floor, from lustful to playful; to violent; to romantic; to shyness; and even to angst. Every body's style varied, but all in all their movements showed many different intents.

“New York City, this place reminds me of Apokolips.”

Shi San turned to Kanto, reminded that he was from an entirely different world. Something that she had caught onto when she first met him, and something that did not frighten or surprise her in anyway.

“Most of the citizens seem like they would rather kill you, than look at you.”

She nodded, looking about, and seeing people walk around their laughter echoing into her ears that were already ringing from the loud music that boomed across the club. Shi San shifted in her place, lifting her leg slightly to stretch the muscle in her legs. Currently, she sported a short black cocktail dress with high strapped heels which she found to be quite uncomfortable. Of course the feeling from wearing them was no different than standing on a bed of burning nails, so she was quite used to it. Her hair was tied up in a messy bun, held in place by two strangely shaped hair sticks. She wasn't wearing the best thing for this interview but this was all part of keeping up appearances. As far as her and Kanto were concerned they were just two people out here looking for a good time.

New York City itself was very different for Shi San. Growing up in rural China and having been isolated her whole life due to her training she was not used to so many people. She was extremely good at being invisible amongst the large crowds, but still the congested feeling compressed her own personal space and she felt uncomfortable in a city with such a large populace. She preferred an area of solitude, of silence and of complete serenity. Kanto was right though, the city was filled with very frustrated people with a lot of tension and inner anger as well as intents on kill. Although that could not be confirmed, she could see that in one individual tonight.

”He enjoys the freedom granted to him by his mercenary work. His movements are so jagged, so unlike the usual lucidity that I recall him moving at. But he is not at work now, he is merely searching for his target, waiting for the right moment to leap upon his prey, he will show his true skill in time... or perhaps he has other plans for this kill. I can see him, looking, watching, he has spotted his target, he is keeping all eyes on him, he knows he can see his target, but his target cannot see him.”

Shi San to herself, her mind making observations based on what see saw. Although she rarely spoke, she was a woman of many, many thoughts. So when she usually stood in silence, she was most likely thinking about her opponent or making observations based on what she saw. It was how she was, and how she was raised, the only form of communication she did know was that through violence.

“Have you noticed?”

Looking over at Kanto she traced his linear vision and looked back down at Alpha, she knew exactly what he was referring to.

“He’s after a target.”

Shi San responded, her voice almost inaudible over the loud music. Her grey eyes trailed after Alpha as he danced across the floor apparently having the time of his life.

”Dancing is a rather interesting type of body movement. You move based on the rhythm given to you by music rather than the mere rhythm and beat of your own heart on the arena. I have never tried dancing, the movements are too sharp, to erratic, I find no point in it rather then as a way to merely “have fun”... but that is a personal opinion... I have never been trained to do this type of dancing, only to dance on the battle field and over the trail dead bodies. Alpha on the other hand... he seems to enjoy it.

Shi San thought, her hands still folded behind her back as Kanto took another drink from his glass and watched Alpha engage in some sort of dance battle.

”So he has found his target... a rather interesting approach to his confrontation. By the looks of things, I don't think he will be putting up a rather exciting performance in his assassination of his target. A shame, we won't be able to observe his skill.”

Shi San turned to Kanto who was watching the scene unravel before them very intently. She knew that he probably already saw what she saw, and that was they would not be seeing what they had originally came here to see. Standing in silence they both watched as Alpha lead the man off the dance floor into a isolated booth and then performed his kill there.

They watched as he left the booth, scratching the back of his head and heading straight for the bar. There he took a seat and held up his hand, ordering a drink from the bartender and then gulping it down.

“Shi San... shall we begin this interview?”

Kanto asked with a bemused expression on his face as he motioned for the stairs. She nodded silently and made her way to the staircase and trailed down the stairs.

Seconds later, Shi San walked towards Alpha, who was currently holding the bartender by his collar and yelling at him over the music. As she walked, she could see the lights around her begin to dim and the multi colored lights become more erratic as more heavy music began to play out on the dance floor. When Alpha finally let go of the bartender, he returned to his drink, cursing under his breathe. A few feet away, Kanto leaned against a column watching Shi San as she approached Alpha. In the background Rob Zombie's “Dragula” boomed on the surround sound of the club and all that could be seen in the darkness was the few moments of erratic neon lights display as well as the grinding bodies on the dance floor.

She stood behind him, the intro of the song at a slow begin as she stared at the back of Alpha's head. Feeling somebody stare straight at him, he turned around, ready to curse somebody out but then his entire expression changed as he caught sight of Shi San, and eyed her body, making sure to check her “assets”.

“Well hello there gorgeous... I'm guessing you want a dance from the main man?”

Alpha said, obviously not recognizing Shi San from the first glance. This was good, at least she was a stranger to him for now. He slicked his hair back, still trying to play the extremely cool game with her as he grinned at her.

There was just a second for Alpha, and Shi San's individual movements happened at first in slow motion. She moved with such ease, with such grace it was so unexpected. Staring at him for just a second she suddenly crouched down and performed a leg sweep on the legs of the chair. Had she not endured training for years, she would have probably hurt her shin bone, but since that was not the case here, she caused Alpha's chair to immediately loose its footing, sending him falling backwards to the floor.

“HEY! What the FU-!”

Alpha screamed, but was unable to finish as he crashed onto the floor, his drink spilling all over his chest. The chair landed on top of his chest, and Shi San immediately kicked it off him, her movements performed so easily despite the fact she was still in heels. She watched Alpha's hands as he immediately reached for the holster on his waist and with his upper body erect pulled out his hand gun. Shi San reacted with twice the speed and swiftly kicked it out of his hand, sending the gun sliding across the floor a few inches away from him. In one fluid movement, she followed through with her assault, pulling the hair sticks out of her hair, revealing the gleaming silver blades that removed from the sheathes in her hair. They were really small daggers.

Pouncing down upon him, Shi San brought one blade to the soft flesh on his neck, not practicing lenience as she pressed the blade against his skin breaking it slightly and making blood trickle down his neck.

“Defend.”

Shi San said, her voice clearly audible to Alpha despite the loud music around them. He glared at her, obviously pissed and swiftly brought his elbow forward ready to collide with her chest. Seeing his assault, Shi San immediately flipped backwards, her hands meeting with the ground and then her feet landing perfectly afterward. As she regained her composure she saw Alpha flip over and retrieve his handgun, already cocking it and aiming it.

She did the only thing that had to be done in a situation like this, she moved with the pure intent to dodge.

Alpha did not expect that. One moment he was trying to score on the beautiful babe. The next, he was laying on the ground at knife-point. He was too angry to not be serious at a time like this. This was like the third time in the week, when someone hired a Gun to kill him. It was really pissing him off to no end! After she told him in her sweet sounding Alto voice to defend, he flipped from where he was laying (grabbing his SIG in the process) and reloaded it. Cocking it, he walked over towards a chair, while the assassin in a mini-skirt and high-heels waited for his next move. He shot a look at her with sheer anger. If this experienced assassin's intent was to provoke Alpha, then her wishes were granted. He looked down at his shirt and took a deep breathe as if in pain.

"You...made...me...LOSE MY DRINK!"

He was screaming now.

"I'm going to waste your ass! Get ready!"

Using reflexe to kick up the chair he was sitting in, he side-kicked it towards the Asian woman. Making it block her view, he shot through the middle of the chair in her direction. With cat-like speed, the bullet missed. She cart-wheeled as she threw another one of her darts at him. Shooting it, he sprinted towards her as he tried his Gun Kata martial arts on her. Reflexe. Flexibility. Focus. All were put to the test as he was trying to shoot her in a mix of martial arts attacks, along with screaming bullets. She seemed to dodge and block every attack with as much flow as he put into his offense. It amazed him. Whoever she was...she was one of the best at what she did. Finally, he found an opening and slammed her legs from behind with his own. Latching onto him like a parasite, she slammed her head into his and kicked him in the chest.

Flying into a nearby table, he crashed and then backflipped onto his feet with grace. His face bloody and torn up, while she didn't have a scratch on her. He reloaded in silence. Closing his eyes as he cocked his gun, he concentrated on his prediction of movement. She moved similar to him...but it was evasive, not aggressive. Maybe he had to try that approach. They ran a each other. He let her try to attack him, this time. She didn't land a blow on him, and he couldn't shoot her as they were very equally skilled in combat. Both using defensive movements, they kept trying to one-up attacks as if a game. She seemed much more skilled at hand to hand combat then Alpha. Alpha seemed much better at moving than her.

He decided enough was enough. Allowing her to get the better of herself, Alpha moved one of his arms in on purpose, in a very open attack. She took the opportunity and stabbed him with one of her hair-pin darts. But this was what Alpha was looking for. An opening. Latching on to her arm, he motioned his gun to the opposite direction of his hand, with the barrel aiming at HIM instead of her. Quickly, he slammed the butt of his pistol into her forehead, and kicked her into the ground. Flipping his gun back up, he aimed it for her head, but before killing her, he wanted to know who she worked for. Nobody kicked Alpha's ass that hard in years. The person that even came closest was Batgirl, and he personally trained her. The woman lay down there staring at him, with a red mark on her forehead, while he decided what to say. After a second, he said something out of sarcasm to what the Asian woman said earlier.

"Defend"

The lights were back up normally, and the room, not so dark. It seemed in their battle, they scared everyone away. Not a another soul dwelled in the room. Wait! He recognized that face! In confusion, he rubbed the back of his head while moving his SIG more towards her chest than her head. He was surprised to hell how she found him. Only someone like her could create THAT much damage. He winced in pain as he stared in complete awe at the person he knew for years and the fact that she attacked him. The dagger she stabbed into his arm went in pretty deep. Blood trickled down his sleeve and onto the dance-floor. He paid no attention to his injury, though. Alpha was a trooper. For him, pain wasn't much of an option, let alone a productive one at that. He glared at the woman that attacked him with a burning hatred. Rob Zombie's Dragula Techno Remix was coming to an end...

"...Shi San? What the Hell!??!"

 Re: The Interview (LoA)

Kanto was casually leaning against the upper balcony railing of the dance club. He wore a pair of lose fitting black silk pants, a long sleeve white button shirt, a pair of five-thousand dollar black shoes, and draped around him was a long black jacket that hung around his body like a dark cloak. His raven black hair, normally kept in a pony tail when on a mission, was currently hanging loosely past his shoulders.

Any observer of him, and there were many of the female type, would call him a pretty boy, a ladies’ man, or simply, Mr. Cool. It was the appearance he wanted to portray, for most people underestimated this type. Earth was all about sex, and someone like Kanto, well most people looked at him thought that’s what he was all about.

Of course all this was completely wrong. Kanto had very little need for sex; in fact he considered it a crutch for most people. People let their own personal desires and wants take control of them; they lacked willpower and discipline, and let outside forces control their will. Kanto was a master of discipline and self control, and he pushed those needs and wants into a far corner of his psyche. But the appearance of being a ‘player’ made it easy for him to do his job. No one expected him to be an assassin; they saw his scanning eyes and assumed he was looking for prey, female prey. This was half right, we was looking for prey, usually his target, or possible targets, or possible informants, hitmen, and other nefarious creatures that lurked about.

Everything Kanto did was calculated to achieve a desired effect. Every move, every blink, every breath; it was all a game of chess being put on by the Grand Master. No one in the world would guess he was the man behind the League of Assassins, and that he was now watching a potential new recruit.

Kanto took a sip of his glass and leaned over even more, placing both elbows on the railing. He softly circled his glass in his hand, causing the ice in it to swirl around the edges. Looking below, he watched as Alpha made his way out to the dance floor towards his target. Everything about his body movement told Kanto that he wasn’t going to kill his target just yet, and Kanto wasn’t sure what he was planning.

As the music changed to a faster song, Alpha’s target, who had a rather odd taste in fashion, wearing a pink suit, began to move into what people called, ‘Street Dancing”. The man was quite good, and many people around him moved back to give him space and watch him move. Alpha moved up to the outer edge of this circle, and watched his target.

Kanto studied everything about Alpha, from his dress, to every body movement, and especially his eyes. The eyes of a person spoke volumes about what they were thinking, and right now, Kanto could see that Alpha was trying to figure out how he could get closer to his target.

A few moments passed, and Alpha stepped into the open circle. He leaned over to his target, whispering something in his ear. The man stepped back and nodded. Alpha stepped back, waving his hand to the man, and once again the music changed. The next few minutes, Shi San and Kanto watched as Alpha engaged in a ‘dance off’ with his target. It was something that Kanto hadn’t seen before, at least in this context, and he had never seen an assassin engage in this activity before, especially with his target.

Kanto nodded to himself.

It allows him to get close to his target. He forms a quick bond that enables him to get close to his target, setting up a later time to strike…

As the two men below competed, Kanto noted how easy Alpha was able to mimic the moves of his competitor.

He has a natural gift; many people can hear music and then play it by ear… he can watch moves, and pick them up quite easily.

Finally, after many minutes of competition, and no winner really proven, the two laughed and walked off towards a table together.

His rather flamboyant actions resulted in perfect opportunity. He has earned the man’s trust.

The next phase of Alpha’s plan involved getting the man drunk. As soon as Kanto saw what Alpha was doing, he knew what was planned.

He will get the man drunk, and then kill him with either some sort of poison, or a non-visible method. When the man falls over dead, those around will just think he passed out.

As the moments passed, Kanto’s prediction proved to be right on. Alpha used a dart, and from any who watched, it only looked like Alpha put his hand around the man’s neck (one that obviously looked gay)… then, when Alpha removed his hand, the man smiled, and then slowly his head fell forward onto the table.

It didn’t take Alpha long to get up and leave. Kanto expected him to leave the establishment, which would be the wise thing to do, but instead Alpha headed straight to the bar and ordered a drink.

“It wasn’t your typical assassination, but it was effective.”

Kanto said calmly as he looked to Shi San.

“That won’t work for his physical test.”

Shi San merely nodded her agreement.

“Shi San... shall we begin this interview?”

Without a word, the quiet and diminutive form of Shi San descended the stairs like a cat. Kanto watched, wondering if she would take him outside and test him unobserved, or if she was going to do it right here in the open. Knowing her like he did, he knew she didn’t care what others thought of her, and he figured she would go with the later. With that in mind, Kanto once again scanned the room with his eyes, checking out any possible dangers.

Something caught his attention. There was a man on the ground floor, dressed in rather casual clothing, and he appeared to be scanning the crowd. However every few moments his eyes would rest on Alpha for just a second too long. Keeping note of the man, Kanto moved down the stairs just as Shi San knocked Alpha off his seat.

Intrigued with the battle, but keeping a wary eye on the strange watcher, Kanto found a place to watch the spectacle.

As the fight took place, Kanto kept his eyes on Alpha, taking note of not only his physical prowess, but his mental focus while engaged in combat. The first thing Kanto noticed was his anger. Alpha had allowed his anger to get lead him into the fight.

If you are patient in a moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of sorrow.

Anger was something that one could learn to control. Growing up on Apokolips, Kanto had to learn that the hard way. Kanto had a feeling that Alpha had the control and discipline inside him, but it would have to be worked back out. Right now, Alpha had no reason to have discipline; he was a free bird.

On the reverse side, even with anger bringing him into the fight, Alpha was able to think rather quickly, and use his environment to his benefit. Using the chair as a distraction was an excellent tactic.

After the first bullet went off in the nightclub, everyone scattered. There were screams all around while people crawled all over each other to get away from the flying bullets and make their way to the exits. Kanto saw this as a strength and a weakness. First, it was a strength in that Alpha didn’t care about anything around him; he had a mission and he was going to execute it no matter the cost. His goal was to kill Shi San, and any bystanders would just be collateral damage. This was something an assassin needed, for sometimes the timing couldn’t be controlled, and bystanders or collateral damage was necessary. However, this was also a weakness, in that doing something as brash as this in an open room left too many possibilities. One never knew who was in the crowd, and you could find yourself in a worse predicament. And this there was the code of no unnecessary killing. They were professional assassins, and killing on a whim made them murders and basic thugs. They were skilled and disciplined enough to complete the correct requirements.

The style of combat that Alpha used was quite remarkable and very artful. People of earth called it the Gun Kata, or even Gun-Fu. It was a style of close quarter gunplay. It focused on the maximum efficiency of the firearm, while at the same time using them in ways they were not designed to be used. Firing from odd angles, behind the back, ricochets, and more… all while mixing in hand to hand maneuvers as well. Kanto had seen it done, but not with anyone as skilled at it as Alpha. Watching Alpha, Kanto saw many greater possibilities with the style, as well as with Alpha. He could only imagine what a small team of Gun Fu specialists could do in an urban warfare setting. It brought of the image of the earth movie “The Matrix”, where Neo and Trinity entered into a building and took out guard after guard.

Shi San was getting the better of Alpha, and after a quick blow, Alpha fell back and reloaded. Kanto could see he was evaluating the fight, trying to determine why she was winning. When the fight started again, Kanto saw that Alpha had changed tactics, becoming more defensive like Shi San had been.

He’s a quick study.

The fight went on for many minutes, and everyone in the club had seemed to make it out ok, and surprisingly, there had been not one indirect fire that had hit someone. With the two master combatants focusing on defense, they seemed to come to a standstill. Then Alpha did something brash; he performed a move and was open to attack. Most people would think he simply made a mistake, and Shi San was taking advantage of it, but Kanto saw right away it was a ruse. Alpha allowed himself to be temporarily vulnerable in order to set his target up for an even greater opening. The ending was perfect, and Alpha stood over Shi San with his gun aimed at her forehead.

Kanto wasn’t worried. He had seen Shi San block and evade machine gun fire, and he also knew that she wouldn’t wait for him to fire, if she saw it in his eyes, she would move first… and before Alpha’s brain registered her movement and sent a signal down to his finger to pull the trigger, she would already be out of the way.

But Alpha hesitated, and Shi San didn’t move.

A shadow moved.

Kanto’s instincts instantly became heighted and every part of his body was primed for action. He no longer was watching the interaction between Alpha and Shi San.

To any observer, he would have seemed to almost vanish into the shadows around him. With his dark jacket shrouding him, he was invisible to all but a hawk. His keen eyes watched the shadows to his left, and his uncanny eyes watched the hidden assassin move through the place, working his way closer to Alpha and Shi San’s location. Kanto could see this was a professional, an assassin, and it was the same man he has spotted earlier that had been watching Alpha.

Kanto moved. He was no more than a mobile shadow as he crept up on the assassin. Kanto moved twice as fast as the wood-be assassin and made his way past him, moving between him and two combatants. A gleam told Kanto that the assassin had pulled out something metal… something shiny, and Kanto knew it was time to be noticed.

Kanto stepped from the shadows and was spotted immediately. The assassin stayed hidden, and Kanto could see that he was being studied.

*****

Marcus DeMont was on his last chance. He had failed once before in killing the freelance assassin known as Alpha, and his organization had allowed him one more chance. The first time, he and Alpha had engaged in a twenty minute battle. Marcus had learned that Alpha was someone quite skilled, and in a way he felt that their twenty minute battle had been one of awe. The two had learned much of each other, determining they were nearly matched in skill.

Marcus had been trailing Alpha for quite some time. Now, inside the nightclub and witnessing this woman attacking Alpha and watching them battle, Marcus had seen an opportunity. At first he thought that maybe someone else was trying to kill Alpha, but that’s when he recognized the woman. She was with them. She was not trying to kill Alpha, but was testing him. It was just as his masters had thought, they were trying to recruit him.

Marcus couldn’t allow that to happen. It was the reason he had been sent to kill Alpha. Alpha had refused their offer, and his masters wouldn’t’ allow him to refuse their offer and then join with the enemy. If he wouldn’t join them, then he would die.

So with Alpha completely distracted, Marcus made his way through the shadows and prepared to deliver the killing blow. He would first take out Alpha, and then with any luck, he’d take out the woman as well. His masters would be pleased, and his honor would be restored.

But then, out of nowhere, a dark and shrouded man appeared between him and his targets. Marcus didn’t recognize the man, but he could sense that the man was not your average nightcluber.

*****
"What do you want?"

Marcus asked, whispering from his spot inside the shadows.

"I want a piece."

Kanto said bluntly.

Marcus reached down, grabbing a dagger beneath his jacket. He smiled.

"Of what?"

"You."

Kanto replied his lips barley moving and his eyes watching every inch of Marcus.

Marcus launched himself at Kanto who stood a little more than ten feet away. Kanto waited until the last second and sidestepped the hurried attack and pulled Marcus’ leading arm into the wall behind him.

*****
Marcus couldn’t believe what had just happened. He knew he had to have caught the man by surprise with his attack, and he knew his dagger would sink into his heart. But then the man was gone, and Marcus felt himself being directed into the wall. His dagger hit the wall and snapped.

Marcs hadn’t ever seen anyone move that fast. It was impossible. He prepared to feel the deathblow, possible a knife to his heart, or a crank of his neck, but nothing came.

*****

Kanto could have easily shoved the assassin’s head into the wall too, but the Kanto wanted the man to report this fight back to his superiors in detail. If Kanto had sent his head into the wall, it was likely the man would not even remember his own name. Kanto already knew that this man worked for someone, and that meant Kanto needed to send a message. So instead, Kanto stepped away from the man.

"I don't know who you are, but I'm giving you one more chance to leave before I spill your blood."

Kanto almost smiled at the audacity of the threat. The man had just been disarmed, and still thought he had a chance. Kanto said nothing but raised his arms in an inviting gesture. The man took the invitation, drew another dagger, and came at him. Still without a weapon drawn, Kanto spun away from the attack, his long jacket flaring out as he did, hiding his sidestep. Like a bull trying to attack a gladiator, Marcus charged through the jacket to attack only air.

Being played with did not sit well with Marcus, and he stopped his charge, dropped to his knee, spun about, and thrust at where Kanto had just been. Kanto easily avoided the attack, but did not move out of the short weapon's range. Marcus attacked again and again, stabbing his weapon out at Kanto’s elusive body. Kanto seemed to just flow around the man like a dark cloud, easily avoiding each lumbering thrust. He ended the move with a nasty kick that took the man under the chin.

Marcus fell to the ground, but rolled with it and came up hard and fast like the afore mentioned bull, and executed a nice forehand thrust, backhand swipe combination. Kanto avoided the thrust and spun out of the way of the swipe. As Kanto swept by the would-be assassin, Marcus felt a sharp pain in his arm. He spun to face Kanto, but the dark fighter held both his empty hands out to see, his own dagger back in its sheath as if it had never been drawn.

Kanto was back up against the wall, and Marcus did not contemplate the phantom wound too long. He was too astonished at the moment, for he felt as if he were a child, or a novice in the dojo. He had never been so humiliated. He felt as if this was some sort of dream, for he honestly felt the man he was fighting was some sort of ghost. Marcus attacked again, shaking out the uneasiness and pushing through the anxiety.

The next attack was also easily avoided, and as Kanto stepped past his attacker, he pulled out his dagger, thrust it a little deeper into the assassin’s side, and then once again returned it to the concealed sheath.

Marcus felt as if his soul was being drained. As he turned to face his attacker once again, his fear only increased as he turned to see Kanto still apparently unarmed.

"What are you?"

Kanto just smiled as he wondered what must be going through the man's mind. He advanced this time, as Marcus was now against the wall. Marcus’ dagger absorbed very little of Kanto’s attention, and he paid it no mind as Marcus swung it in front of him. Kanto had punched the man twice before the dagger even came close, and when it did, Kanto was so close, that only the hilt hit him in the shoulder.

With his prey up against the wall, Kanto worked his magic. His two fists worked up and down the helpless man's body as they took turns with his seemingly invisible dagger. Kanto punched him in the face with his right hand, as his left pricked him in the gut. He then switched the blade, punching him in the shoulder with his left, and pricked him in the leg with his right.

Marcus saw and felt both fists attacking him, but was at a loss to explain where the mysterious stabs were coming from. Regardless of where they came from, they had the desired effect. Marcus dropped his useless weapon and soon followed it to the ground.

Kanto sheathed his dagger with its identity still unknown and stopped to pick up Marcus and his weapon. He pinned the would-be assassin to the wall with his forearm and placed his own dagger at his neck.

"I am not one to be trifled with. You will leave and not look back. Is that understood?"

Marcus nodded weakly, his eyes trapped within the black pupils of his tormentor.

"You will never approach this man again. Understood?"

The man nodded again. Kanto stepped back and returned the man’s weapon by thrusting it into its sheath and pointed toward the nightclub exit.

"Go."

Marcus went.

Kanto turned his attention back to Alpha and Shi San who were both starring at him.

“We need to discuss your future, Alpha.”

Kanto said, motioning towards a table. The three moved to the table and sat down, not even remotely concerned at the sound of sirens in the distance.

“We have heard you have interest in the League again, and we’ve come to see if you are League material.”

Kanto saw a small expression on Alpha’s face, one saying ‘of course I am League material’.

“The League has changed much, and it is far from what it used to be. While you to possess the physical prowess to be a member, that is only part of what it takes to be part of the League…”

Kanto then went on for the next few minutes explaining the transformation the League had underwent, and the brotherhood, loyalty, respect, and discipline that was now part of every member. Alpha listened with earnest, and Kanto saw a desire in his eyes.

“I believe that you are currently hot tempered, wild, and lack discipline, but I believe these are all things that can be corrected, and are a result of your current circumstances.”

Kanto saw that Shi San agreed with him, for he r silent signals were quite clear to Kanto.

“If you desire a position on the League, you will receive no special privileges, and will go through the same mental and physical training as all the current members have completed. This training isn’t meant to be disrespectful, but it is a common ordeal we all must face, and… once completed it gives us all a feeling of brotherhood and accomplishment.”

Again, Kanto could see that there was some desire in Alpha’s eyes, but there was also some reservation.

“The League offers much more than it did in the past, as I am sure you have heard. But it also requires much more as well. This isn’t a decision that is to be taken lightly…”

Kanto stood up, as the sirens were getting quite close.

“I will allow you time to think on the matter, and if you wish, you may talk with Shi San to discuss anything specific. “

Kanto paused, allowing Alpha the opportunity to say anything before he left.

Alpha lowered his weapon while the long blacked-haired man took out the mercenary that was hunting him down. The long-haired man's hands truly amazed him. Along with his flow of movement. Maybe...He was leader of The new League of Assassins? It didn't matter. Alpha felt compelled to know more about the guy that saved his skin. Something about him seemed inhuman from all of the other people he has known. Something monsterous. Alpha had never seen a man move that fast, let alone flow that smoothly, in defense. It was like he knew what the other man was going to do, before he did it. That is REAL POWER, right there.

As the assassin ran away, Alpha finally caught a glimpse of the look in the long haired man's eyes. They were cold, almost destructive eyes. Ones with signs of honor...respect...and a sleeping evil. Alpha had seen guys with that look. None of which had the skills to back their eyes up. This man obviously DID.

"We need to discuss your future, Alpha."

Alpha stood looking bewildered at what just happened.

"Uh...I was just attacked and now you want to talk about my future? Ok then..."

After being motioned to sit down, he took a seat in a chair at a table, while they discussed what the hell was happening. He rubbed his head in the usual 'confusion' look. He heard the sound of sirens. The cops were coming. And knowing the amount of luck Alpha had with the cops, he wasn't looking forward to that sound. He had half of a clip of ammo left. He didn't like to think about fighting S.W.A.T. officers with limited ammunition. He was beginning to tense up at the sound, but was still listening to what the long-haired leader was telling him.

“We have heard you have interest in the League again, and we’ve come to see if you are League material.”

He sighed and rolled his eyes while talking to them. Pulling out his white hanky from his pocket, he wiped his bloody face, and glared at Shi San, still feeling a little bit of a grudge towards the woman for attacking him... and attacking him just out of nowhere.

"Oh...That explains the "warm welcome" then, doesn't it?"

His look changed from 'slightly annoyed' to 'of course I am'. He fought one of the strongest LoA members, and not only survived. He almost BEAT her. It was really close. Too close to tell, but that 'itself' deserves some kudo's. He knew exactly what Shi San was capable of. He had seen her in battle before. And it made him proud to know that their skill levels weren't that far off. She was...STILL IS an incredibly powerful opponent. Oh...Alpha held that thought and met eye contact with the the head honcho of the LoA. Alpha believed he had an offer.

“The League has changed much, and it is far from what it used to be. While you to possess the physical prowess to be a member, that is only part of what it takes to be part of the League…”

He smiled and felt eager to hear WHAT ELSE this guy had to say.

“I believe that you are currently hot tempered, wild, and lack discipline, but I believe these are all things that can be corrected, and are a result of your current circumstances.”

He laughed a little bit at the thought.

"So I see. My current circumstances, have made me a simple hitman. No sport in the job. No honor, that you speak of. I'm bored. I want to sober up. Also, to add insult to injury, my moves are rusty. With proper training and discipline, this can be 'corrected'. No problem. I really don't care about my attitude. I can be as cold and respectful as any disciplined killer. If it's a calmer more controlled Alpha you seek, then I'm your man. At a time, I hated playing by the rules...but...what do rules do, anyway? They establish ORDER, right? A little less chaos and a little more CONTROL. If you you are offering me a position in this 'new league', I can assure you, that my feelings will NOT cloud my judgement like the previous Sensei. I hear you killed him. Good for you. Hated the bas#@$d."

Alpha shrugged without a care.

"Good. I don't intend to receive any. I love training. Testing my body to it's limitations. And who said training WAS disrespectful? You work at it and FAIL until you SUCCEED. It's as simple as that. The 'brotherhood' thing I might have to work at, though. Never had any brothers or sisters to look down or up to, hehe. I guess you can consider THAT a learning experience. I would also like to see what HAS changed since you lead the League. Not trying to sound rude...Just being open minded. From the way you portray this 'brotherhood' it's problably for the better."

“The League offers much more than it did in the past, as I am sure you have heard. But it also requires much more as well. This isn’t a decision that is to be taken lightly…”

He looked at the ceiling and contemplated his options. Working for the new League of Assassin's, he would have to follow rules with the obediance of a dog. But on the same note, he would problably be safer in the League's hands than on the streets, unable to find out who keeps trying to kill him. Maybe they could help him find the suspect. Also, he would finally get training to test him to the limits and make him possibly greater than when he helped train Cassandra Cain. He could just go work solo for the rest of his life. Die an unhappy man. Without honor. Without any respect as a person. Never knowing if he actually made the 'right choices' before he died. Thinking about THAT kind of future, he decided 100% that he would go with the first option.

"I understand..." His voice without ANY enthusiasm. Could he just turn back from what he was doing and join a complete stranger like that? Could he? This was on a whole new plane of diffficulty. Trust was NOT something Alpha felt obligated to attend to. But he had no other choice BUT to trust this stranger. This inhuman stranger, that TRUSTED HIM. Somehow the long-haired man must have known what Alpha was THINKING. He understood his level of thought, obviously. Decisions are never easy.

“I will allow you time to think on the matter, and if you wish, you may talk with Shi San to discuss anything specific. “

Alpha made up his mind in a matter of seconds.

"I don't think I need to discuss anything. You have told me everything I need to know. I will go with you. Pledge my allegance to gain the honor I had, long ago. I understand that you only accept the best. I will trust you, and make myself one of the best. I'm tired of waiting on false hopes of retiring from earning dirty money. Killing is my only true gift. There is no sport or honor in killing for money. Only greed. If I am to join this, I will make myself better. To take down opponents, and become a League of Assassin's member, again. This is about as poetic as I think I can get. I am a 'DOer'. Not a 'thinker'.

He bowed to his new master and associate in a sign of peace and partnership. He didn't care if he was being lead. He didn't care about the rules. The hardships he would have to endure. He just didn't care. Killing was his 'future'. And it was a brighter one.

He heard the sounds of sirens coming closer. Annoyed about possibly having to fight them, Alpha turned to his new master and the woman he worked with.

"Uh...can we get out of here? I have a criminal record and would like to avoid any authorities if I can.

As Alpha bowed to Kanto, and then to Shi San, he considered the words of his newest member. Kanto truly believed Alpha was sincere in his words, and within that sincerity, there was also determination. Alpha would become one of the League’s best, Kanto was sure of that. Kanto knew too, that Alpha was sure to become one of the members of the inner circle. Anyone with his skill and determination, mixed in with discipline, honor, and loyalty, was what the inner circle required.

It was also good that Alpha had history with the League. Tradition and culture relied on continuity and word of mouth. Alpha had been there and seen the League at nearly every incarnation, and Kanto knew that Alpha truly wanted the League to be something special. There was a bright future for the master of shadows.

Kanto nodded, and the three of them knew that they only had a short time before the police arrived. Kanto considered for a moment of having a little fun at the expense of the law enforcement officers, until Alpha commented.

"Uh...can we get out of here? I have a criminal record and would like to avoid any authorities if I can.

Kanto smiled at the absurdity of Alpha’s comment. He was an assassin of the highest order, belonging to the most elite assassin’s guild in the world. Having a criminal record was the last thing that he should be concerned with.

“Yes, we may leave.”

Out of nowhere appeared a bright, golden tunnel of light. It manifested from thin air, and was completely silent. Shi San walked in, disappearing into nothing. Kanto looked to Alpha, who looked on with complete amazement.

“It’s a Hush Tube…”

Alpha looked at him, still confused.

“I’ll explain it… but come, we have much to do.”

((Cue end of thread, and onto the next… war of the assassins))
